Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) - Public Sector

01Work with clients on short to medium term engagements using the Databricks platform
02Design and build reference architectures and productionalize customer use cases
03Create technical documentation, how‑to guides and white‑boarding materials
04Scope professional services work with engagement managers and customers
05Guide strategic customers through end‑to‑end design, build and deployment of big data and AI applications
06Consult on architecture and design, bootstrap or implement customer projects
07Provide escalated support for customer operational issues
08Collaborate with Databricks technical team, project managers, architects and customer teams
09Provide product and implementation feedback to Engineering and Customer Support
10Travel to customer sites approximately 20% of the time

01Minimum 6 years experience in data engineering, data platforms and analytics
02Proficient in Python or Scala programming
03Working knowledge of at least two cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with deep expertise in one
04Extensive experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and understanding of Spark runtime internals
05Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for production deployments
06Knowledge of MLOps concepts and tools
07Experience designing and deploying end‑to‑end data architectures
08Proven ability to deliver technical projects, manage scope and timelines
09Strong documentation and white‑boarding skills
10Experience working directly with clients and managing conflicts
11U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. government secret clearance (active Secret or higher preferred)
