Engineering Manager, Marketplace

01Form the team - hire the founding engineers, set the technical direction, and establish how the team operates
02Own engineering execution end-to-end: planning, prioritization, delivery quality, team health, and incident response
03Partner with product and design to shape the roadmap - not just execute against it
04Work directly with enterprise customers and ecosystem partners alongside the go-to-market organization, joining key conversations and turning what you learn into engineering priorities
05Manage the integration seams with billing, auth & identity, and other platform teams — coordination across these boundaries is one of the largest sources of timeline risk
06Drive the platform-readiness work this product layer requires, partnering with security, legal, and operations as self-serve capabilities displace manual ones
07Recruit, onboard, and grow strong engineers; give direct feedback and build a healthy, high-performing team

01Have taken a product or platform from 0 to 1 - formed a team, made the early architectural calls, and shipped the first version with limited precedent to lean on
02Are a skilled engineering manager who treats management as a craft with clear feedback, strong 1:1s, consistent investment in your team's growth
03Have led teams whose work sits at the seams between other teams, and understand that coordination quality is often the bottleneck
04Are comfortable working with customers and partners directly, and joining conversations alongside sales, customer success, and business development
05Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
06Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
07Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position

01Annual Salary: $405,000 — $485,000 USD
02Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.
03Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.
