Обязанности
- 01Design and implement new features, enhancements to existing features, and resolve bugs in Elasticsearch
- 02Be a full-time Elasticsearch contributor building data-intensive new features and fixing intriguing bugs while making code easier to understand
- 03Research available data structures and algorithms to determine the best approach for new functionality or enhancements
- 04Implement data structures or algorithms in the code base when needed
- 05Work close to the operating system and hardware when required
- 06Collaborate with a globally distributed team of experienced engineers focused on search and query (ES|QL) analytics capabilities
- 07Work with UI teams to ensure good user experience and with teams building solutions on top of APIs
- 08Become an expert in several areas of Elasticsearch and serve as a go-to person for questions
- 09Improve Elasticsearch areas based on questions and instincts
- 10Engage with community members worldwide on issues and pull requests, triaging and handling them
- 11Write idiomatic modern Java (Elasticsearch is 99.8% Java)
Требования
- 01Strong skills in core Java, including standard library data structures, concurrency constructs, and newer features like lambdas
- 02Experience with software systems engineering
- 03Strong desire to optimize and use the most efficient data structures and algorithms
- 04High level of autonomy with ability to take on projects and guide them from beginning to end
- 05Comfortable developing collaboratively, including giving and receiving feedback on code, approaches, and APIs
- 06Experience collaborating over the internet (bonus for asynchronous collaboration)
- 07Experience with several data storage technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra
- 08Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 09Proven track record of using AI to accelerate development, debug complex systems, and optimize code while owning outcomes
- 10Ability to collaborate across functions and teams and transition between projects, codebases, or teams based on business priorities
- 11Ability to work autonomously and drive decisions in a distributed team using asynchronous, direct, and transparent communication
- 12Experience building things with Elasticsearch
- 13Experience in the search and information retrieval space
- 14Familiarity with data structures and algorithms associated with information retrieval
- 15Experience working on data storage technology or building data analytics capabilities
- 16Experience designing, leading, and owning cross-functional initiatives
- 17Experience with open source projects and familiarity with different source control workflows and continuous integration
