Responsibilities

01Design and lead major platform features end-to-end, such as the IoT core, the device-metrics platform, or the licensing ledger
02Lead operational improvements that increase system robustness, reduce pager noise, and help the team learn from incidents when they occur
03Teach as you ship — through design reviews, code reviews, crisp written communication, and direct mentorship
04Listen to other Verkada teams, and help drive the platform's roadmap toward the company's biggest long-term bets

016+ years of experience building backend services with consistency, latency, and uptime guarantees at scale
02Fluency in at least one server language — Python or Go preferred; adjacent languages like Ruby or JavaScript (NodeJs) welcome
03Skilled at listening to other engineering teams, shaping shared technical direction, and shipping changes they can build on without surprise
04This role requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency for FedRAMP compliance
05Onsite presence five days per week
