Director, Product Design (Remote Eligible)

01Lead and grow a diverse and talented team of Product Designers in applying principles of design thinking to conceptualize engaging and personalized user experiences for web and mobile apps.
02Help establish, drive and articulate a vision for the future of design at Smartsheet.
03Define the user experience strategy and vision for your areas of oversight.
04Establish goals and target metrics that design decisions can be mapped to.
05Manage the day-to-day and strategic activities of UX designers, ensuring the human-centered process is properly planned and followed.
06Build, evolve and scale UX processes, standards, and tools.
07Mentor and coach UX designers in a motivating and supportive manner and keep the team updated on emerging UX techniques and tools.
08Develop career paths and programs tailored to individual team member professional development.
09Gain a deep understanding of user needs and goals and communicate them to cross-functional product teams.
10Create alignment with other groups within the company by collaborating with product teams to launch new features and evolve existing ones based on user needs, business objectives and technical constraints.
11Translate business goals into innovative, creative and engaging product experiences.
12Support other duties as needed.

0112+ years of experience in a highly cross-functional role running strategic projects from idea through implementation.
026+ years leading and mentoring UX teams; experience as a manager of managers is a plus.
03Successful experience leading a large team of designers (10+).
04Demonstrated examples of broadly influential UX work that directly contributed to business goal achievement.
05Experience designing for enterprise SaaS platforms.
06Passion for the field of User Experience.
07Self-motivated and enthusiastic; knows when to seek guidance.
08Experience facilitating activities to gather insights on user needs and goals and conducting usability testing.
09Experience finding simple, innovative solutions for complex problems.
10Experience with Agile methodologies.
11Strong visual design skills and sensibilities.
12Expert proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or other visual design, wireframing, and prototyping tools.
13Proficiency in rapid prototyping.
14Highly organized with strong planning, conducting, and tracking work abilities.
15Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work successfully with teams across the organization, including Product Management and Engineering.
16Ability to articulate design decisions and advocate for the user.

12Competitive base salary range $235,000 – $275,000 USD, with market-competitive incentive opportunity.
