Sr. Image Quality Software Engineer

- 01Optimize the ISP pipeline for both road and cabin views through a data-driven approach, ensuring image stability and clarity in high-motion and high-vibration environments
- 02Tune key ISP blocks (Auto Exposure, Noise Reduction, Sharpening, and Color Mapping) for both RGB and RGBIR sensors
- 03Optimize Auto-Exposure (AE) weighting and shutter-speed priorities to minimize motion blur and "jello effect" during vehicle vibration
- 04Tune Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and gyro-sensor integration to maintain video fluidity and frame-to-frame consistency under various road surface conditions
- 05Develop Python/MATLAB scripts to extract objective metrics (MTF, SNR, Dynamic Range) from massive field-drive datasets
- 06Build and maintain internal tools to visualize ISP parameter changes, ensuring that tuning "drops" are documented and version-controlled
- 07Own the "Version-to-Version" IQ database and ensure that fixing a DMS issue doesn't accidentally degrade stabilization or license plate clarity during high-speed driving
- 08Automate IQ report generation, including "Vibration Robustness" scores for the Lead Architect
- 09Work closely with Product Management, EE, PD, FW, EPM, NPI, and Hardware leadership to make excellent tradeoffs and choices
- 10Collaborate with Supply Chain team, laboratories, JDM design resources, and supply base to achieve objectives

- 016+ years in Image Quality or ISP Tuning
- 02Comfortable with at least one major SoC tuning tool (e.g., Ambarella, Novatek, Sony, or Qualcomm)
- 03Hands-on experience tuning AE for motion-blur mitigation or EIS for video stabilization
- 04Proficiency in Python (OpenCV, NumPy) for image processing, specifically for temporal analysis and frame-to-frame metric extraction
- 05Understanding of how lens/sensor interactions and mechanical tolerances (lens-tilt/vibration) affect the tuning limits
- 06Must have shipped automotive or high-end imaging products from "bring-up" to mass production
- 07Proven record navigating tradeoffs between design, manufacturability, schedule, and cost
- 08BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
- 09Ability to travel up to 25% when necessary
- 10Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive independent work
- 11Good written and verbal communication skills in English
