Principal Software Engineer - Vector Search - Elasticsearch

- 01Lead initiatives within Elasticsearch to produce an industry-leading vector database offering
- 02Contribute to Elasticsearch full time, building new search features and fixing bugs
- 03Invent new algorithms or data structures or find and implement existing ones
- 04Work with a globally distributed team of engineers focused on vector search capabilities
- 05Be an expert on how Elasticsearch implements vector similarity
- 06Work with community members on issues and pull requests
- 07Write idiomatic modern Java
Требования
- 01Implemented novel techniques in vector similarity on a search platform with large user base or progressed academic research in vector similarity information retrieval
- 02Professional experience with vector similarity and vector databases using HNSW, IVF or other relevant algorithms at scale
- 03Strong skills in core Java and conversant in standard library of data structures and concurrency constructs
- 04Work with high level of autonomy, taking projects from beginning to end including technical design
- 05Comfortable developing collaboratively, giving and receiving feedback on code and approaches
- 06Used several data storage technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra
- 07Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- 01Compensation is in form of base salary without variable compensation component
- 02Typical starting salary range: $159,800 - $252,800 USD
- 03Eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program
