- 01Define and drive multi-year technical strategy for the Claude API, setting direction across API Core, Capabilities, Knowledge, Distributability, and Agents
- 02Identify and personally lead the highest-complexity, highest-impact engineering initiatives spanning multiple teams
- 03Serve as the primary technical decision-maker for major architectural decisions with org-wide scope
- 04Partner with Research to evaluate and integrate frontier capabilities
- 05Work with Inference and Platform for reliable delivery at scale
- 06Collaborate with Infrastructure and Safeguards for reliability, security, and responsible deployment
- 07Mentor and develop Staff-level engineers across the org
- 08Drive alignment across Product, GTM, Safety, and beyond while proactively identifying and addressing systemic technical risks
Требования
- 0112+ years of engineering experience at Staff or Senior Staff level
- 02Proven track record shaping technical strategy for large-scale API or distributed systems platforms
- 03Deep expertise in distributed systems and API architecture, including design documentation and critical path coding
- 04Ability to lead through influence across organizational boundaries
- 05Strong product instincts and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- 06Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Условия
- 01Annual salary $405,000 – $485,000 USD
- 02Location preference: New York or San Francisco Bay Area; hybrid policy requires at least 25% office presence
