Manager, Commercial Counsel, GTM

- 01Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, with a primary focus on GTM/Sales agreements with enterprise technology customers and startups
- 02Partner closely with Sales and Go-to-Market leadership and teams to support deal velocity and provide practical legal guidance
- 03Help build and maintain our commercial legal infrastructure, including contract templates, playbooks, and process improvements
- 04Manage a team to support enterprise technology and startups segments
- 05Identify and escalate legal risks appropriately while supporting business momentum
- 06Stay current on legal developments affecting AI technologies

- 01JD and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
- 02Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, SaaS agreements, or technology transactions
- 03Demonstrated people management experience, including hiring, developing, and leading attorneys or legal professionals
- 04Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate legal concepts for non-lawyer stakeholders
- 058+ years of legal experience, with substantial time spent on commercial contracts, SaaS agreements, or technology transactions
- 06Active membership in the California state bar
- 07Experience leading legal teams through high-growth phases at technology companies
- 08Experience navigating multi-stakeholder agreements involving technical and policy considerations
- 09Curiosity about AI technology and AI policy, and a commitment to responsible AI development
- 10A collaborative, low-ego approach to working with colleagues and external partners
- 11A "doer" attitude—willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in where needed
- 12Comfort in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities, and a willingness to pitch in across what the team needs
- 13Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- 14Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
- 15Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position

- 01For this role, we expect all staff to be able to work from our San Francisco office at least 3 days a week
- 02The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $320,000 — $385,000 USD
- 03Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices
- 04Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this
