Responsibilities
- 01Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team
- 02Lead engineers on your team through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
- 03Ensure that everyone is supported throughout delivery
- 04Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics
- 05Participate in ideation, articulate technical constraints, and partner on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs
- 06Proactively identify project, process, technology or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them
- 07Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting “keep the lights on” & on-call efforts
- 08Foster a culture of quality and ownership on your team by setting or improving code review and design standards
- 09Advocate for standards beyond your team through writing and tech talks
- 10Help develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example
Requirements
- 014+ years of experience as a software engineer
- 02Experience in designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale
- 03Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
- 04Experience designing, implementing, and operating batch processing or asynchronous workloads, including scheduled jobs, backfills, and large-scale data processing
- 05Experience defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component with elegant, simple and extensible design
- 06Proficient at making significant changes in a large code base
- 07Developed a suite of tools and practices that enable safe code changes
- 08Take ownership of your growth, proactively seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders
- 09Strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaboration with global engineering team
- 10On-Call Rotation requirement
