Responsibilities
- 01Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team
- 02Lead engineers on your team through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
- 03Ensure everyone is supported throughout delivery
- 04Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle
- 05Collaborate with product management, design & analytics by participating in ideation
- 06Articulate technical constraints and partner on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs
- 07Proactively identify project, process, technology or business issues, advocate for them, and lead in solving them
- 08Support the operations and availability of your team's artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics
- 09Escalate when needed and support keep the lights on & on-call efforts
- 10Foster a culture of quality and ownership on your team by setting or improving code review and design standards
- 11Advocate for standards beyond your team through writing and tech talks
- 12Help develop talent on your team by providing feedback and guidance, and leading by example
Requirements
- 014+ years of experience as a software engineer
- 02Experience in designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale
- 03Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
- 04Experience designing, implementing, and operating batch processing or asynchronous workloads
- 05Experience with scheduled jobs, backfills, and large-scale data processing
- 06Strong focus on correctness, observability, and failure handling
- 07Experience defining a technical plan for delivery of significant features or system components
- 08Ability to write high quality code that is easily understood and used by others
- 09Proficient at making significant changes in large code bases
- 10Developed suite of tools and practices for safe code changes
- 11Takes ownership of growth and proactively seeks feedback
- 12Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with global engineering team
