Responsibilities
- 01Take ownership of technically complex, mission-critical areas and run with them
- 02Define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities, from backend services and APIs to the customer-facing UI
- 03Design and ship full-stack features end to end
- 04Work across backend, frontend, and potentially mobile to deliver AI-powered products that solve real operational problems
- 05Partner with product, design, and customer-facing teams to translate ambiguous, real-world problems into clear technical plans and measurable outcomes
- 06Build and scale the systems behind AI-driven products, including data ingestion, APIs, and the workflows that put intelligence into the hands of operators
- 07Raise the bar for the engineers around you through code reviews, design reviews, technical mentorship, and by setting a standard for quality, velocity, and craft
- 08Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Requirements
- 01Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 028+ years of experience in software design and development, including building and operating production systems at scale
- 03Strong full-stack fundamentals
- 04Comfortable working across backend services, APIs, and frontend (web or mobile) to ship complete products
- 05Proficiency in modern languages
