Responsibilities
- 01Take ownership of technically complex, mission-critical areas and run with them
- 02Define and drive technical strategy for new products and platform capabilities, from backend services and APIs to the customer-facing UI
- 03Design and ship full-stack features end to end across backend, frontend, and potentially mobile
- 04Partner with product, design, and customer-facing teams to translate ambiguous, real-world problems into clear technical plans and measurable outcomes
- 05Build and scale the systems behind AI-driven products, including data ingestion, APIs, and workflows
- 06Raise the bar for engineers through code reviews, design reviews, technical mentorship, and setting standards for quality and craft
- 07Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales
Requirements
- 01Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 028+ years of experience in software design and development, including building and operating production systems at scale
- 03Strong full-stack fundamentals and comfort working across backend services, APIs, and frontend (web or mobile) to ship complete products
- 04Proficiency in modern languages
