Responsibilities
- 01Lead and develop a Payment Operations team responsible for supporting Mercury Bank's payment rails
- 02Build and scale payment operations desks across international wires, domestic wires, RTP, ACH, and checks
- 03Bring deep payments expertise to operational decision-making, helping the team navigate exceptions, investigations, returns, rejects, recalls, partner requirements
- 04Improve operational efficiency through better processes, tooling, automation, AI-enabled workflows, dashboards, and measurement systems
- 05Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Banking Partnerships, and other Operations teams
- 06Define and track metrics for payment operations including productivity, quality, SLA adherence, exception trends, control health, payment rail performance
- 07Create a culture of ownership, urgency, and high quality
Requirements
- 013-5+ years of experience in payments, banking operations, payment operations, business operations, or related operational function
- 02Deep working knowledge of payment rails such as international wires, domestic wires, RTP, ACH, and checks
- 03Experience leading, coaching, or managing an operations team
- 04Experience with process improvement, tooling, automation, AI, documentation, dashboards, and measurement
- 05Understanding of how to operate in a regulated environment
- 06Clear and calm communication skills especially in complex, cross-functional, urgent, or sensitive situations
- 07High degree of ownership and problem-solving mindset
- 08Comfort working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Banking Partnerships, and other teams
What we offer
- 01Base salary range: $135,000 - $168,700 USD for NYC, LA, Seattle, or SF Bay Area
- 02Base salary range: $121,500 - $151,800 USD for other US locations
