Responsibilities
- 01Research emerging techniques in retrieval, reasoning, and agentic AI
- 02Prototype new ideas quickly and turn them into production-grade features
- 03Define technical direction that spans multiple teams within Fivetran AI
- 04Build and maintain both back-end and front-end systems for the Fivetran AI product
- 05Drive the AISQL capability forward: natural language to SQL grounded in dbt metric definitions
- 06Take ownership of production reliability across the platform: on-call rotation, incident response, and SRE work
- 07Set the bar for testing and QA practices, and do hands-on QA work
- 08Use coding agents to automate repetitive parts of the job
- 09Take high-level direction and independently define and execute concrete plans
- 10Mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar
Requirements
- 01Build Infrastructure Agents Can Trust — deliver governed context layer with accurate semantic definitions, traceable lineage, data contracts, and auditable history
- 02Embrace Open Standards — build portable, interoperable data infrastructure: Agents Schema, open formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake), MCP-native interfaces
- 03Scale Without Breaking — make Fivetran AI efficient at agent scale with deflating unit costs and fast, accurate, cost-controlled context retrieval
