- 01Design, build, and test Gusto core money movement or risk platform services – payment rails, ledgering, wallets, fraud, decisioning engine, KYC, AML, and compliance capabilities
- 02Mentor other engineers to help solve technical problems in complex domains at a large scale
- 03Help scale one of the largest Ruby/Rails and Javascript/React applications in the world
- 04Collaborate with Product Engineering, Product Management, Data, Design, and financial operations teams to understand customer pain points and launch solutions
- 05Build platforms that engineering teams rely on to deliver products

- 018+ years of software development experience
- 02Passion for creating scalable, efficient money movement platforms
- 03Experience leveraging AI tools or systems to accelerate development, improve testing, and deliver new platform capabilities
- 04Curiosity and experimentation with emerging AI frameworks
- 05Experience owning multi-quarter projects that solve complex engineering problems and make measurable user impact at scale
- 06Experience with large scale refactors, performance and reliability issues
- 07Strong sense of ownership over all aspects of your platform area
- 08Ability to mentor engineers to maximize their performance and impact
- 09Experience in, or interest working in, Ruby on Rails
- 10Appreciation for a collaborative, test-driven environment
- 11Ability to build well-structured, maintainable, well-documented code
- 12Ability to effectively communicate across engineering teams and with business stakeholders
Условия
- 01Cash compensation targeted at $163,000–$204,000 in Denver & most remote locations, and $197,000–$247,000 for San Francisco & New York
- 02Stock equity is additional
- 03Two day travel to a Gusto office for onboarding is required
- 04Employees based in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week
- 05Secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection required when working remotely
