Staff Software Engineer, Android Identity

- 01Architect, build, test, and refine Gusto's native Android app and supporting mobile web-views
- 02Build, iterate, and refine experiences that allow users to successfully and easily access key product features and offerings
- 03Integrate biometric authentication methods (fingerprint, face unlock) and passkey functionalities to enhance user login security and improve user experience
- 04Implement and maintain secure coding practices to protect user data and ensure compliance with privacy regulations
- 05Collaborate with product management, design, and other partner teams to understand technical and customer pain points, develop solutions, and prototype, iterate, and launch
- 06Mentor other junior engineers
- 07Build a product that customers genuinely love
- 08Build and scale secure, frictionless authentication solutions
- 09Own and enhance shared services that power Identity across Gusto's platform
- 10Stay ahead of best practices, tooling, and advancements in Identity security
- 11Work closely with teams across Payroll, Benefits, HR, Security, System Design, and Infrastructure to deliver scalable, high-impact solutions
Требования
- 01At least 6 years of experience in Kotlin Android development and a minimum of 8 years in mobile software engineering
- 02Strong knowledge of GraphQL
- 03Self-driven mindset and ability to work on green field projects
- 04Working knowledge of MVVM
- 05Experience with Android testing frameworks and best practices
- 06Experience implementing biometric authentication (BiometricPrompt API) and passkey solutions (FIDO2/WebAuthn) in mobile applications
- 07Experience constructing platform and common components to enhance scalability, consistency, and maintainability throughout the product development lifecycle
- 08Strong critical thinking skills and keen attention to detail
- 09Strong communication and cross-functional partnership skills
- 10Commitment to continuous learning and mentorship

- 01Competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs) for full-time employees
- 02Target cash compensation range: $197,000–$247,000 for San Francisco, Seattle & New York; $163,000–$204,000 for Denver
- 03Final offer amounts based on experience, expertise, role, level, and location
- 04Physical office locations in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City; expected office work approximately 2–3 days per week for hybrid employees
- 05Office expectations also apply to Symmetry roles (subsidiary) with office in Scottsdale
- 06San Francisco office expectations cover San Francisco and San Jose metro areas
- 07When working remotely, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required
- 08Expectation to actively engage with AI tools relevant to role and grow fluency as technology evolves
