- 01Define AI capabilities (the 'what and why')
- 02Identify and pattern match high-value opportunities for AI across the product
- 03Set clear boundaries for autonomy vs human control
- 04Design AI-driven workflows and agentic systems that operate across real-world scenarios
- 05Establish decision frameworks: when systems should act, ask, escalate, or defer
- 06Design for uncertainty, failures, and edge cases as core system behavior
- 07Develop and apply design principles and heuristics to shape how AI systems behave
- 08Design experiences for users who are increasingly managing AI systems and agents
- 09Design how AI integrates into real user workflows
- 10Define the role of the human in the loop: where users guide, review, or override
- 11Partner with product designers to continuously shape and adapt the product experience
- 12Define what 'good' looks like (e.g. trust, accuracy, effort reduction)
- 13Design evaluation scenarios and feedback loops
- 14Analyze outputs to identify failure modes and system weaknesses
- 15Design for reliability at the system level
- 16Shape direction from the earliest stages of zero-to-one problems
- 17Lead ambiguous, in-flight work
- 18Act as a bridge between AI research, technical capabilities, and user needs
- 19Collaborate deeply with ML scientists, PMs, and product designers
- 20Prototype and run focused experiments
- 21Stay close to system behavior by regularly reviewing outputs
