Software Engineer, Safeguards Foundations (Internal Tooling)

- 01Design, build, and maintain internal review and enforcement tooling used by Safeguards analysts
- 02Understand user workflows and establish tooling for distributed processes across multiple UIs
- 03Develop reusable APIs, data storage, and backend services for new review workflows
- 04Partner with operations and policy teams to translate reviewer pain points into product improvements
- 05Integrate tooling with upstream detection systems and downstream enforcement infrastructure
- 06Implement granular permissions, audit trails, data-access controls, and reviewer wellbeing features
- 07Instrument tools to surface metrics on queue health, reviewer throughput, and decision quality
- 08Contribute to the Foundations team's shared platform and on‑call responsibilities
Требования
- 014+ years of experience as a software engineer building internal tools, operations platforms, or back‑office products
- 02Comfortable using agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code) to ship well‑tested production software
- 03Product‑minded approach to internal users with focus on usability and impact
- 04Ability to communicate technical trade‑offs to non‑engineering stakeholders
- 05Interest in societal impacts of AI and applying engineering skills to AI safety
Условия
- 01Annual salary £255,000 – £325,000 GBP
- 02Hybrid work: at least 25% of time in office, location‑based policy
- 03Visa sponsorship available
- 04Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
