Обязанности

  • 01Serve as one of Anthropic's lead in-house regulatory counsel for US AI regulation, covering applicability analysis, readiness, day-to-day advice, and compliance-program design
  • 02Own US regulatory compliance deliverables end to end, such as published safety and transparency frameworks, model documentation obligations, and incident-reporting requirements
  • 03Track legislative, regulatory, and standards developments across US federal and state jurisdictions (and internationally where relevant), assess applicability and impact on Anthropic's business and products, and design compliance approaches well in advance of obligations taking effect
  • 04Counsel legal, compliance, safety, security, and business teams on day-to-day regulatory questions once laws are in force, translating complex and often ambiguous requirements into practical guidance and scalable compliance programs
  • 05Support Anthropic's engagement with US AI regulators, enforcement agencies, and standards bodies — including notifications, information requests, reporting obligations, and voluntary framework and standards processes — in close partnership with Policy
  • 06Partner with Anthropic's Policy and Policy Legal teams on pre-legislative and rulemaking engagement, including comment letters and regulatory submissions, translating policy positions into legally-grounded regulatory positions
  • 07Partner with Anthropic's Litigation and Regulatory Investigations Legal teams on litigation and regulatory enforcement concerning AI regulation
  • 08Contribute to Anthropic's global frontier AI regulatory work where it intersects with US obligations

Требования

  • 01JD from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one US state bar
  • 02Hands-on experience advising a technology business (in-house or at a leading law firm) on emerging regulatory regimes, including taking questions from first read of a statute through to a documented compliance position and a shipped artifact
  • 03Experience engaging with regulators, enforcement agencies, or standards bodies in a non-contentious supervisory capacity
  • 04Experience drafting regulatory compliance deliverables, such as compliance policies, regulatory submissions, or published compliance frameworks
  • 05Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to technical, policy, product, and business audiences
  • 06Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
  • 07Field of study relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
  • 088–12 years of regulatory legal experience, with substantive depth in technology regulation and hands-on exposure to AI-specific frameworks
  • 09Direct experience with frontier AI regulatory regimes — California SB 53, the Colorado AI Act, or comparable state laws; or the EU AI Act and GPAI Code of Practice
  • 10Experience at a frontier AI company, large technology platform, or other hyper-scaling technology business operating under novel regulatory regimes
  • 11Familiarity with adjacent laws that intersect with AI regulation — e.g., privacy and data protection, consumer protection, product safety, and export controls
  • 12Familiarity with model evaluation, capability testing, or AI safety concepts
  • 13A background that combines private practice and in-house experience
  • 14Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to develop novel compliance approaches in areas without established precedent
  • 15Strong organizational skills to run several workstreams in parallel and keep compliance artifacts current without prompting
  • 16Excellence at cross-functional collaboration
  • 17Passion for responsible AI development and getting the balance right between innovation and appropriate safeguards
  • 18Understanding of how to build constructive long-term relationships with regulators and standards bodies
