Обязанности
- 01Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale
- 02Design and build components of a scalable datastore platform
- 03Develop control planes for management and self-service of hundreds of databases at scale
- 04Automate schema/data migrations, disaster recovery, sharding and performance tuning
- 05Collaborate across teams in the product development lifecycle, focusing on database solutions
- 06Own the team's operations and availability by ensuring proper monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, and alerting
- 07Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards
- 08Help develop talent on the team by providing feedback and guidance
Требования
- 018+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin
- 02Extensive track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes
- 035+ years of hands-on Database Expertise with deep knowledge of Relational and/or Distributed SQL such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, TiDB/Vitess
- 04Deep understanding of Database fundamentals including schema design, query optimization, scaling, partitioning, sharding and performance tuning
- 05Strong background and expertise in building and operating databases in cloud environments
- 06Expertise in database benchmarking, load testing, and capacity planning
- 07Familiarity with connection poolers and proxies such as ProxySQL, RDS Proxy, Pg Bouncer
- 08Experience delivering major features, system components or deprecating existing functionality through definition of technical and execution plan
- 09Ability to write high quality code that is easily understood and used by others
- 10Comfortable moving from low level language idioms to architecture of large systems
- 11Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with global engineering team
- 12Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
