• 01Define and drive the long-term technical vision for indexing and retrieval infrastructure across Core, Ads, and Shopping
• 02Lead cross-org initiatives to modernize Pinterest's indexing architecture
• 03Partner closely with engineering, product, ML, and infrastructure leaders to align priorities and deliver shared platform capabilities
• 04Raise the technical bar for retrieval infrastructure by guiding system design and architecture reviews
• 05Build shared platform capabilities such as common metrics, tuning surfaces, and debugging workflows
• 06Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders across teams
• 07Use AI to accelerate analysis, prototyping, and iteration on system design options
• 08Use AI to streamline repeatable work such as summarizing technical investigations and drafting design artifacts

Требования

• 01Deep expertise building and evolving large-scale indexing, search, recommendation, or ads retrieval systems
• 02Strong technical leadership experience operating across multiple teams or organizations
• 03Proven ability to lead large modernization efforts such as architectural convergence and migration from legacy systems
• 04Exceptional systems thinking and problem-solving skills
• 05Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• 06Demonstrated experience using AI to improve speed and quality in engineering workflows
• 07Strong track record of critically evaluating and validating AI-assisted work
• 08High integrity, ownership, and care in handling sensitive data and production-critical systems
• 09Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent experience

• 01Position is not eligible for relocation assistance
• 02In-office requirement: 1-2 times per quarter in PA or SF offices
• 03Must be in commutable distance from PA or SF offices
• 04Base salary range provided with equity eligibility
• 05Final salary based on location, travel, relevant experience, skills and expertise
