Responsibilities
- 01Build the intelligence layer: a cross-source interpretive layer that reads across Vanta's sources of truth and makes them queryable and reasoned-over by EPD leadership, GTM, and beyond
- 02Define what to build: scope the problem yourself, make explicit tradeoffs about what to defer, and own the sequence of what gets built and when
- 03Ship working things yourself: prototypes, internal tools, agent workflows — using AI as part of how you work, not what you report on
- 04Understand the organization: go to the teams whose decisions this layer will serve — GTM, G&A, EPD — and come back knowing what they can't answer today
- 05Catch and address AI-specific quality problems — reliability, cost, latency, drift, bad answers — before they cause damage
- 06Build on top of what the Signal Collection and EPD OS roles are constructing; understand what's trustworthy and what's coming
Requirements
- 01You scope ambiguous problems yourself — you don't wait for the mandate to sharpen before you start
- 02You're comfortable showing unpolished work, and you're honest about when to push ahead alone vs. pull in an engineer
- 03You've shipped real things with LLM tooling recently, and your approach has changed in the last six months
- 04You change behavior across orgs you don't control — GTM, G&A — through what you build and how you communicate, not through authority
- 05You know what quality means when building with AI: reliability, cost, latency, edge cases, drift
- 06You've caught a real quality problem before it caused damage, and you stayed with it after it was technically "shipped"
- 07You find root causes rather than symptoms, and you think through second- and third-order effects before you make a change
- 08Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact
