Responsibilities
- 01Lead a team of backend engineers building scalable, reliable systems
- 02Balance people leadership, technical direction, and execution
- 03Partner closely with Product and other engineering teams to deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes
- 04Develop and grow a high-performing team
- 05Guide technical and architectural decisions
- 06Create clarity around complex initiatives
- 07Ensure systems and engineering practices evolve as Attentive continues to scale
Requirements
- 012+ years of experience managing software engineers
- 027+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 03Strong technical foundation in backend engineering, distributed systems, APIs, data modeling, and scalable application architecture
- 04Experience building and operating high-volume production systems with focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability
- 05Proven ability to guide technical and architectural decisions, evaluate tradeoffs, and lead complex initiatives from design through production
- 06Experience hiring, coaching, providing feedback, managing performance, and developing engineers at different stages of their careers
- 07Strong cross-functional communication skills with ability to create clarity and alignment across Engineering, Product, and other stakeholders
- 08Experience using modern development practices and AI-powered engineering tools to improve team productivity and software quality
