USA - Austin (dbt)
Responsibilities
- 01Own the end-to-end developer workflow in dbt Cloud: Studio IDE, Developer Agent (AI coding assistant), Cloud CLI, and dbt VS Code Extension
- 02Work closely with the Fusion team to ensure developer surfaces leverage Fusion's capabilities and represent developer needs in the Fusion roadmap
- 03Own the developer experience roadmap across Studio IDE, Developer Agent, Cloud CLI, and VS Code Extension from near-term iteration to long-term vision
- 04Partner deeply with the Fusion team to align on capabilities, surface Fusion-powered intelligence (SQL comprehension, compute, context) through developer-facing UX, and co-define the boundary between platform and product
- 05Lead AI-native product development for Developer Agent, defining a best-in-class AI coding assistant for the full spectrum of dbt users, including agentic workflows, context-aware suggestions, natural language interactions, and guided development experiences
- 06Drive IDE and tooling strategy informed by a deep understanding of modern development environments, translating insights from VS Code, Cursor, and other leading IDEs to the dbt Cloud context
- 07Define and execute cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, and GTM teams to ship high-quality developer experiences on a predictable cadence
- 08Build tight feedback loops with the dbt community and enterprise customers to continuously improve developer tools, focusing on power users and technical practitioners
- 09Conduct market and user research to understand the competitive landscape for developer tooling and AI-assisted development, bringing external perspective into the roadmap
- 10Align developer experience investments with broader company goals, product-led growth metrics, and the Fusion platform strategy
Requirements
- 015+ years of product management experience with meaningful time spent on developer tools, IDEs, or technical platforms
- 02Direct experience managing IDE or developer environment products
- 03Informed point of view on what makes development tools excellent and where modern IDEs fall short
- 04Demonstrated engagement with developer communities and technical practitioners
- 05Deep understanding of what makes IDEs and developer tools great
- 06Excitement to reimagine developer workflows in an era where AI lowers the floor for new practitioners and raises the ceiling for experts
