Responsibilities
- 01Advise customers and solve complex MongoDB problems
- 02Work with largest customers on architecture, performance, recovery, security issues
- 03Be an expert resource on best practices for running MongoDB at scale
- 04Advocate for customers' needs with product management and development teams
- 05Contribute to internal projects including software development of support tools
- 06Mentor and ramp new team members
- 07Build knowledge of new product lines within MongoDB ecosystem
Requirements
- 01Systems engineering experience including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting
- 02Good understanding of Networking concepts and protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, etc.)
- 03Storage engineering experience including NAS, SAN, SSD, multi-pathing, and caching
- 04Experience building and maintaining complex mission-critical production database systems
- 05Ability to read code and basic coding/scripting ability in one or more languages: Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, Javascript, node.js, Go, etc
- 06Broad awareness of customer workloads and use cases including performance, availability, and scalability
- 07Experience analyzing issues holistically from application tier through database down to storage
- 08Genuine desire to help people
- 09Ability to think on feet, remain calm under pressure, solve problems in real-time
- 10Desire and ability to rapidly learn wide variety of new technical skills
- 11Collaboration: willingness to get help from team members when required
- 12Be a US Citizen
What we offer
- 01Remote role for candidates based on east coast
- 02Schedule during 6-9 month ramp period: Monday - Friday 7 AM - 4 PM EST
- 03Weekend schedule post-ramp: Saturday - Wednesday 7 AM - 4 PM EST
- 04Mandatory 1 hour lunch break from 3-4 PM for hand-over to 2nd shift
- 0520% uplift on base salary for weekend shift
- 06No on-call requirements for off days
- 07Certain events throughout year may require volunteering for coverage outside normal work hours
