Responsibilities

01Design, write, and deliver software (mostly in Go, sometimes in Python) to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Reddit's products
02Dive deep into the codebase of a suite of Go services owned by the team as well as one of Reddit's monolith Python legacy stack
03Make system level improvements, enhancements and implement complex code modifications
04Develop judgment to identify and discuss gaps in our current platform; Help evolve it for next 2+ years of growth
05Work collaboratively with wide variety of cross-functional teams across Reddit; actively engage in soliciting customer feedback
06Collaborate with teammates to share on-call responsibilities and support monitoring/alerting to improve the reliability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Reddit

013+ years of software engineering experience in a production setting writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
02BS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
03Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages like Golang, Python, C++, Java
04Experience working with one or more databases like Cassandra, Postgres, Redis
05Experience with modern cloud-based infrastructure like Kubernetes, gRPC, AWS/GCP
06Strong communication skills and a desire to collaborate with cross-functional teams
07Prior experience with scaled, high rate platform services and API design is a plus
