Responsibilities
- 01Develop internal visual standards for internal work boards, JIRA queuing, PowerBI dashboards, and department workflow
- 02Maintenance program enhancement – increase attention on poor-health hardware and descope unnecessary work
- 03Support department continuous improvement projects such as new process rollouts/standardization
- 04Integrate with all levels of the business to understand current workflows and identify systematic gaps
- 05Define and develop department-level metrics & associated dashboards that quantify the health of our operations and influence change
- 06Conduct in-depth analyses through SQL queries and other data analysis methods to dive into problems and identify trends for decision making, following the rules of clear visual indicators and linear flow
- 07Create reports, tools, and standardized metrics for operational measurements and improvements
- 08Develop automation that mitigates business risk or creates efficiencies within the SpaceX factory
- 09Conduct department wide operations audits that streamline the repair and maintenance and construction engineering teams
- 10Implement construction management or maintenance tools (software or hardware) to reduce wasted effort by engineers and techs
- 11Site services analysis to ensure smart spending on contracts such as custodial, utilities, waste, etc. and roadmap to improve
- 12Build communication tools and reports targeted at factory workcell directors to improve communication and facilitate customer service
- 13Standardize material library and procurement process to reduce project lead times
- 14Drive alignment with maintenance and construction teams at other SpaceX sites across the country to reduce duplicated work
Requirements
- 01Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
- 021+ years of experience in operations/process improvement (internship experience qualifies)
- 03Experience with Excel, SQL, or Python
- 04Previous experience working in a critical manufacturing, data center, or production environment
- 05Proficiency with statistics, data analysis, data visualization, and cost benefit analysis
- 06Experience with CAD software, ArcGIS, Archibus, Power BI, and JIRA
- 07Familiarity with inventory, production, and capacity planning (including MRP/ERP systems)
- 08Experience with lean, six sigma, and other related production principles
- 09Experience or education in management science and engineering, operations engineering, operations research, or industrial engineering
- 10Experience as a contributor to multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams
- 11Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- 12Excellent written and communication skills
