Engineering Manager - Core Payments

01Lead the technical evolution of Yuno's merchant experience, focused on Core platform, APIs, and payment integrations
02Own system and integration architecture connecting backend services and payment flows
03Contribute hands-on to development, architecture decisions, and code reviews
04Ensure scalable, maintainable, and well-documented solutions for enterprise merchants
05Collaborate with Product, Backend, and Payments teams to align platform and merchant needs
06Drive engineering best practices in API design, testing, and performance
07Support and mentor engineers through technical guidance and architectural direction

01Proven experience managing and growing engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
02Strong ability to drive technical decision-making and manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
03Experience in payments companies, payments-related teams or with PSP integrations
04Deep experience in payments infrastructure, including network tokens, routing, and transaction optimization
05Excellent communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
06Solid hands-on backend engineering experience, with proficiency in Java, Golang, Kotlin or similar languages
07Strong understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures, APIs, and integration patterns
08Experience with SQL and relational databases
09Knowledge of secure software development practices and OWASP principles
10Champion of AI-first development — experience setting standards for AI-assisted coding, automated testing, and code generation using LLMs and tools like Claude Code or similar
11Experience delivering in agile environments, adapting processes to what actually works for the team
12Advanced English; conversational Spanish is a plus
