Senior Manager, Engineering

- 01Establish and evolve strategies and processes for the product and engineering organization to meet security, privacy, and compliance objectives
- 02Guide leadership and teams in risk-based prioritization of compliance, privacy, and security efforts and maintain backlogs and roadmaps
- 03Coordinate with team leads, managers, and individual contributors to prioritize initiatives, remove blockers, and ensure completion
- 04Define OKRs and deliver program metrics and communications to stakeholders
- 05Coordinate and support application security initiatives such as threat modeling and mitigation of dependency vulnerabilities
- 06Help product teams develop secure applications for the Sumo Logic platform
- 07Integrate and implement solutions improving Sumo Logic’s security posture
- 08Lead security reviews and penetration tests at design and implementation stages
- 09Partner with the Security Operations Center and Compliance team on security posture, vulnerability management, and threat modeling
- 10Educate product teams on secure development best practices and Quality Engineering teams on continuous security testing improvement
- 11Drive the reliability program to maintain excellent uptime numbers for services
- 12Manage error budgets and policies for key product SLOs
- 13Promote blameless post-mortem culture and developer operational accountability
- 14Continuously reduce operational workload for engineers through infrastructure improvements and automation
- 15Collaborate with SRE leaders across geographies to lead reliability programs
- 16Lead and grow a global team of SREs building high‑volume, fault‑tolerant, scalable backend systems
- 17Partner with technical leadership to review architectural choices and anticipate scale needs
- 18Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability of backend systems
Требования
- 01B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline (M.S. or Ph.D. a plus)
- 02Minimum 8+ years of industry experience with proven ownership, delivery, and operational excellence
- 03Minimum 3+ years in a management role
- 04Experience responsible for key SLOs of a cloud‑based SaaS: availability, uptime, performance, and security
- 05Experience in multi‑threaded programming and distributed systems
- 06Object‑oriented programming experience (Java, Scala, Ruby, or C++)
- 07Experience with high‑volume data technologies such as Kafka, Kubernetes, and Docker
- 08Agile software development experience (test‑driven, iterative, incremental)
- 09Experience in big data and/or 24x7 commercial service (highly desirable)
- 10Hands‑on experience with public cloud IaaS/PaaS (AWS, Google Cloud Platform)
- 11Functional knowledge of global information security and privacy regulations and standards (GDPR, CCPA, ISO/IEC 27001, PCI DSS, SOC2, OWASP, etc.)
- 12Ability to influence across all organization levels and strong communication and collaboration skills
- 13Professional security certifications (CIPM, CISM, CISSP) are a plus
