Обязанности

01Shape the backend engineering culture across the Communities team, improving how we build, review, and ship software across the entire organization.
02Act as the technical lead for cross-functional initiatives.
03Collaborate across multiple pods with product, design, and both frontend and backend engineers.
04Take end-to-end ownership of projects.
05Drive initiatives from creation of comprehensive technical plans and architecture through successful launch, iteration, and measurable impact.
06Be hands-on in the codebase, actively developing the platform and reviewing code.
07Design empowering systems and build architectures that enable Roblox creators and players to engage with each other both in-experience and on the platform.
08Promote exploration and experimentation among engineers, advocating for new technologies and flows that enhance user experience with a safety-first mindset.

018+ years of backend software engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of large-scale production systems.
02Strong distributed systems fundamentals, including experience architecting and operating large, complex systems handling high throughput.
03Deep proficiency in at least one server-side language (e.g., C#, Java, C++) and comfort navigating large, complex codebases.
04Ability to author clear technical specs, reason about trade-offs that hold up at scale, and influence teams towards the correct collective architecture.
05Track record of broad system architecture from ambiguous requirements through production, including cross-functional coordination with product and alignment with multiple engineering teams.
06Strong engineering fundamentals: code quality, test coverage, observability (logging, metrics, alerting), and incident response.
07Kind and generous: treats colleagues with respect, assumes good intent, and helps others succeed; believes technical excellence without kindness is not enough.
08Product-opinionated: proactively shapes the roadmap and pushes for the right product outcomes.
09Hands-on: writes code, reviews code, and stays close to the product; not looking for a role where they stop building.

01Based at headquarters in San Mateo, CA.
02Annual salary range $243,290 – $295,250 USD.
03Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; optional presence on Monday and Friday.
