01Build the function charter, scope, roadmap, and operating model for Customer Communications
02Codify decision rights, review workflows, and escalation criteria for operational communications
03Orchestrate a scalable global model for 24/7 follow-the-sun support
04Recruit and mentor a team of specialized Communications Managers
05Lead communications for high-severity incidents and major customer-impacting events
06Ensure communications are timely, technically credible, and audience-appropriate
07Create standards for communication cadence, approval paths, and message quality
08Establish processes for recurring operational customer communications
09Partner with Engineering, Product, Security, and other teams for a unified voice
10Act as a senior advisor to executives during critical situations
11Build relationships with systems and tooling teams to improve communication delivery
12Define templates, playbooks, and governance for operational communications
13Partner on tooling and data requirements for reliable customer contact
14Establish success metrics for the function including timeliness and stakeholder trust
15Lead retrospectives on communications performance after major incidents

0110+ years in customer-focused technical, post-sale, operational, support, or incident management
025+ years of leadership experience managing teams and building cross-functional programs
03Demonstrated experience leading high-stakes communications during incidents or security events
04Strong technical literacy to understand cloud, platform, and service narratives
05Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for technical and executive audiences
06Proven success working across multiple organizations to align stakeholders
07Strong program leadership skills including building new functions from the ground up
