Research Engineer Intern (Fall 2026)

Обязанности

01Solve difficult problems in security, privacy, and systems at scale
02Engage in engineering, data analysis, open source software development, protocol design, and implementation of primitives
03Conduct measurement and analysis
04Work on projects in areas such as AI, Distributed Systems, Privacy, or Trusted Execution Environments
05Help maintain the integrity of the Internet, its systems, and its applications
06Investigate areas including advanced cryptography, hardware isolation, network observability, and applications of formal methods

01Evidence of tackling hard or open-ended problems
02Proven track record of peer-reviewed research, open-source software contributions, or standards development
03Experience clearly communicating research ideas through papers, pre-prints, standards documents, blogs, or similar media
04Ability to work in a systems-level programming language (e.g. Rust, C, Go)
05Passion for debugging and ensuring system reliability
06Familiarity with continuous integration workflows and source control systems (e.g., Gitlab, Github)
07Willing and eager to share knowledge, with the skills to do so
08Knowledge or experience with at least one of the following: Computer networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, QUIC, etc.) and related algorithms, Machine learning analysis, ideally in systems or network optimization, Authentication protocols, applied cryptography, PKI and SSL/TLS, Operating or distributed systems analysis or development, Measurement for network and computer systems
09Proficiency in a scripting language, such as Python
10Proven track record of independently driving projects in a fast-paced environment
11Experience working in groups, or with multiple stakeholders
12Able to fluently work across multiple programming languages
13Ability to commit to a 12 week fall internship
