- 01Lead and grow a multidisciplinary research team focused on foundational and applied AI problems
- 02Define the scaling research roadmap in alignment with Databricks' strategic objectives
- 03Drive algorithmic innovations for large-scale neural network training and inference
- 04Optimize end-to-end ML systems for distributed training and RL, memory efficiency, and compute efficiency
- 05Partner with product and engineering to translate research breakthroughs into customer-impacting capabilities
- 06Foster a culture of scientific excellence and openness
- 07Represent Databricks AI research externally through top-tier publications and conference talks
- 08Mentor and develop talent for research scientists and engineers
- 09Define and lead independent research programs on foundation model efficiency
- 10Oversee the design and execution of large-scale experiments
- 11Work hands-on with the team on high-quality code in Python and PyTorch
- 12Collaborate with distributed systems and infra teams on distributed training and parallelism strategies
- 13Establish metrics and evaluation protocols for scaling-focused research
- 14Champion responsible and robust deployment of scaling innovations
Требования
- 01Proven ability to lead a research team to develop novel techniques for foundation model efficiency
- 02Deep expertise in generative AI, LLMs, distributed ML systems, model optimization, or responsible AI
- 03Strong programming skills in Python and PyTorch
- 04Demonstrated ability to translate research innovation into scalable product capabilities
- 05Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
