Responsibilities
- 01Design and architect scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems, including microservices, message queuing systems, distributed databases, and cloud-based solutions
- 02Implement high-quality and dependable code with thorough unit and integration tests
- 03Develop backend systems to ensure the seamless and efficient operation of our services
- 04Troubleshoot and resolve intricate technical issues within distributed systems
- 05Optimize system performance, minimize latency, and maximize throughput
- 06Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, research scientists, and other engineering teams
- 07Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering continuous learning and professional development
- 08Actively participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical design sessions
- 09Establish and advocate for best practices throughout the software development lifecycle
Requirements
- 014+ years of professional experience in software development, with a significant focus on distributed systems
- 02A strong understanding of core distributed systems concepts, including the CAP theorem, consistency models, concurrency control, fault tolerance, and consensus algorithms (Paxos, Raft, PBFT)
- 03Proficiency in one or more systems programming languages such as C#, Go, Rust, Java, C++, or Python
- 04Strong practical experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm)
- 05Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka, and distributed databases like Cassandra and MongoDB
- 06Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, and the ELK stack
- 07Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex challenges
- 08Experience defining technical vision and providing technical leadership
- 09A willingness to embrace new technologies and a passion for continuous learning
