Responsibilities

01Provide technical direction and shape architecture for AI interfaces
02Build core products for seamless developer and AI agent interaction with MongoDB
03Own and develop MongoDB MCP Server, Agent Skills, Intelligent Assistant Platform, and purpose-built agents
04Integrate with fast-moving technologies and make pragmatic decisions in ambiguous situations
05Own high-visibility projects end to end with minimal guidance
06Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for business continuity and incident response
07Work with research, product management, engineering, and design teams to define AI interfaces
08Design, build, and deliver well-tested platform components
09Contribute to architecture, code reviews, development practices, and developer experience
10Mentor fellow engineers and assume ownership of projects

01Strong background in building core components for scalable, high-availability web applications and services
023+ years of experience building backend systems primarily in Node.js and TypeScript
03Interest in working across a polyglot codebase
04Track record of identifying problems, implementing solutions, and working on complex projects
05Product-minded approach to engineering with judgment for pragmatic tradeoffs
06Comfort operating amid ambiguity and rapidly evolving technologies
07Enjoys collaboration and being part of a team
08Approachable, curious, and intellectually honest
09Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills
10Eager to learn with strong technical background
