Senior Network Production Engineer, Network Ops

Responsibilities
- 01Monitor network performance and perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for incidents, guiding post-mortem reviews and improvements
- 02Execute network changes across datacenters, backbone and edge infrastructure to implement next-generation designs, scale capacity and improve network reliability
- 03Manage, optimize and address immediate needs vs long-term goals for the entire Crusoe network (frontend, backend, backbone, edge, public cloud connectivity)
- 04Collaborate within Network Engineering and with cross-functional teams and departments to ensure network meets business needs
- 05Lead operational excellence initiatives—developing monitoring, alerting and systems to ensure high network availability
- 06Mentor network engineers and establish best practices for incident response, documentation and operational readiness
- 07Manage vendor relationships & contracts related to network services and equipment
- 08Provides visibility into network health through the delivery of detailed metrics, event statistics, and performance analysis
- 09Be part of a 24/7 Oncall Support for the Crusoe Network
Requirements
- 0110 years of related experience operating at scale in a production environment
- 02Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, EVPN, VXLAN, QoS and MPLS-related technologies like RSVP-TE, LDP, etc
- 03Strong understanding of network monitoring protocols and tools like SNMP, IPFIX, Sflow/netflow, and Telemetry
- 04Familiarity with data center, backbone and edge network architecture and implementations
- 05Exposure to scripting, coding or programming — Python or similar languages — to automate operational tasks and build tooling to operate efficiently at scale
- 06Hands-on experience with major network devices like Mellanox, Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and other mainstream vendors
- 07Familiar with mainstream commercial switch/router chipsets, such as Broadcom, Barefoot, etc
- 08Knowledge of public cloud architecture connectivity options to AWS, GCP, Azure, Ali Cloud, OCI, etc
- 09Good understanding of IPv6 and IPv4-IPv6 coexistence technologies
- 10Experience with network observability, flow analytics, dashboarding tools like NSG, Kentik, Grafana, Arbor, Thousand eyes, Catch point, packet design etc
- 11Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree based on three or more years of work experience
