Responsibilities

01Own medium-sized projects end-to-end from design through launch and operation
02Build federated, distributed billing systems that meter, rate, and invoice usage across every Snowflake service
03Shape billing strategy for AI products in partnership with Cortex AI, Intelligence, and Apps
04Use AI as a first-class collaborator in development, code review, debugging, and on-call triage
05Own reliability and correctness including participation in on-call and driving systemic fixes
06Be the go-to expert for one or more billing components and mentor other engineers
07Partner cross-functionally with Product, Finance, GTM Systems, Growth, Trust, and Legal

015+ years of professional software engineering experience building and supporting large-scale, production distributed systems
02Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
03Strong fundamentals in distributed systems: consistency, fault tolerance, idempotency, exactly-once processing, queueing, and stream/batch data pipelines
04Strong fundamentals in databases and data modeling including SQL fluency, schema design, and performance tuning
05Proficiency in one or more of Java, Scala, Python, or Go
06Demonstrated ability to independently design, spec, schedule, and deliver medium-sized projects with quality
07A track record of owning reliability for what you build including debugging production issues
08Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style
09Curiosity about and hands-on experience with AI as a builder's tool
