Responsibilities
- 01Lead and grow a team of 6 engineers across multiple levels, coaching on technical excellence, career development, and organizational impact
- 02Drive the re-architecture of core account and history systems to support new product primitives and higher throughput demands at Coinbase's next stage of growth
- 03Own the Finhub Tools roadmap, building internal UIs, dashboards, and agentic workflows that accelerate engineering and operations teams across the company
- 04Shape architectural decisions across distributed systems, streaming pipelines, and full-stack tooling, fostering a culture of high-quality code and thorough design reviews
- 05Collaborate with product, finance, and engineering leadership to define and execute a quarterly roadmap, breaking complex infrastructure projects into iterative, shippable milestones
- 06Partner with the talent organization to recruit exceptional engineers and own engineering quality processes including SLA accountability, incident response, and on-call practices
Requirements
- 017+ years in software engineering with at least 2 years of engineering management experience, including hiring, coaching, and developing engineers
- 02Proven track record delivering and operating distributed systems at scale in production, with hands-on ability to review code, lead incidents, and triage issues when needed
- 03Demonstrated success translating ambiguous, long-horizon technical problems into concrete execution plans with measurable milestones
- 04Experience with financial systems, event-driven architectures, or high-precision transaction processing where correctness and reliability are critical
- 05Comfort leading teams with diverse scope (backend services, streaming pipelines, and full-stack tooling) with an appreciation for developer and operator UX
- 06Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
