Responsibilities
- 01Perform investigations of security incidents using knowledge of digital forensics and data analytics
- 02Use coding, data analytics and investigation skills to hunt, detect and respond to threats
- 03Build automation and detection models to support identification of anomalous activity and response activities to mitigate threats at scale
- 04Hunt for threats in corporate and production environments to proactively identify anomalous activity
- 05Work side by side with engineering teams to build advanced detection solutions to keep systems and information safe, and partner closely with partner teams to carry out complex investigations
- 06Identify gaps in infrastructure and work with business partners to gain visibility through logging and detection
- 07Collaborate with cross-functional partner teams such as Legal, Privacy, and Engineering for efficient, large-scale response
- 08Define and execute novel approaches to detecting, containing and mitigating threats and incidents
- 09Mentor other team members
Requirements
- 015+ years of hands-on in-depth knowledge and technical experience in security operations including investigations, incident response, incident management, digital forensics, threat intelligence, threat hunting, and/or detection engineering
- 02Proficiency in Python or other scripting language
- 03Frequent use of SQL and Pandas
- 04Familiarity with Elasticsearch preferred
- 05Self-motivated and creative problem-solver able to work independently with minimal guidance
- 06Ability to lead people in complex, ambiguous situations through influence and not authority
- 07Ability to work calmly and collaboratively in critical high-stress situations with expediency
- 08Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills
- 09Knowledge and familiarity of the Cyber Kill Chain Framework and MITRE ATT&CK Framework
- 10Experience automating security detection and response
- 11Experience in AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) preferred
What we offer
- 01Pay range $196,000 – $227,000 USD
- 02US - Remote Eligible position
- 03May include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with manager
- 04Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
