Responsibilities
- 01Own engineering execution and technical direction for the Conversation Product Area including Agent Engine, evaluation infrastructure, Search platform, AI Voice platform
- 02Co-lead the Product Area in a paired product/engineering model with product counterpart
- 03Manage a team of ~70 engineers with Senior Engineering Managers and Staff/Principal engineers reporting directly
- 04Drive migration of existing agentic infrastructure onto shared Agent Engine across company product teams
- 05Own technical strategy for Spotify's first-party voice investment (Speak platform)
- 06Define and maintain technical standards for evaluation systems including feature-specific judges and datasets
- 07Set and enforce engineering quality standards for AI-assisted development era
- 08Participate in broader leadership group for operating model development and engineering culture
- 09Represent Conversation PA's engineering perspective in company-wide architecture discussions
Requirements
- 01Deep technical expertise with ability to evaluate architecture proposals and contribute technically
- 02Experience running large engineering orgs through platform consolidations, migrations or evolutions
- 03Experience with at least two of: LLM-based agent systems and orchestration, evaluation infrastructure design, large-scale retrieval/search systems, or speech/voice ML systems
- 04Experience managing managers and building scalable management structures
- 05Track record of building strong but nimble teams that can adapt to changing priorities
- 06Ability to work within Eastern North America or Central European time zones for collaboration
