Responsibilities
- 01Write and maintain software that interfaces between accelerators and high-speed networks
- 02Debug and optimize distributed software at the network level
- 03Diagnose and resolve networking issues in distributed systems (OSI layers 2-4)
- 04Build higher-level abstractions such as collectives and RPC
- 05Design new network protocols
- 06Build a system for accelerator-initiated tensor movement over the network
- 07Benchmark software for a new networking environment
- 08Implement a new collective algorithm to improve latency
- 09Optimize congestion control algorithms for large-scale synchronous workloads
- 10Debug kernel-level network latency spikes
- 11Work with PCIe and drivers for PCIe devices
- 12Program on SmartNICs
Requirements
- 01Expert-level proficiency with network protocols and networking concepts
- 02Deep kernel networking knowledge: TCP/IP stack internals, XDP, eBPF, io_uring, epoll
- 03User-space networking expertise: DPDK, RDMA, kernel bypass techniques
- 04Understanding of how to build higher-level abstractions like collectives and RPC
- 05Skilled at diagnosing and resolving networking issues in distributed systems (OSI layers 2-4)
- 06Strong programming skills in a systems programming language, including memory management, lock-free data structures, and NUMA-aware programming
- 07Familiarity with software, driver, and OS performance optimization tools and techniques
- 08Comfort with or desire to learn Rust
- 09Understanding of ML accelerators and accelerator drivers
- 10Demonstrated ability to design new network protocols
- 11Experience with PCIe and drivers for PCIe devices
- 12Expertise in networking algorithms, including compression and graph algorithms
- 13Experience programming on SmartNICs
- 145+ years of experience in systems programming or network programming
- 15Background in HPC, telecommunications, host networking software, OS/kernel engineering, or embedded systems
- 16Strong debugging mindset with patience for complex, multi-layered issues
- 17Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- 18Relevant field of study demonstrated via coursework, training, or professional experience
What we offer
- 01Annual salary range: $280,000 – $850,000 USD
- 02Location‑based hybrid policy: expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time
- 03Visa sponsorship available (reasonable efforts to obtain visa, immigration lawyer support)
