Responsibilities
- 01Solve a scaling bottleneck in a critical service
- 02Deploy a new feature to production, progressively rolling it out with feature flags
- 03Investigate and fix a production issue from a service your team owns
- 04Design a way to scale up a service for more traffic
- 05With your team, plan the most important projects to work on next
- 06Mentor and lead a small team of 3 engineers
Requirements
- 01You have significant experience in one or more languages
- 02You value code simplicity and performance
- 03You can design architecture to solve problems at high scale
- 04You have a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience
- 05You want to work in a fast, high-growth startup environment that respects its engineers and customers
- 06You're excited about leveraging AI tools to enhance how you code, solve problems, and build – or eager to learn how
- 07You have demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and build, validate, and refine AI-generated output in products
- 08You can design AI Backend systems, with awareness of quality, cost, and latency tradeoffs
- 09You are willing to lead and support a small group of engineers
