Responsibilities
- 01Design and build Cloudflare Queues as part of Cloudflare’s developer platform
- 02Maintain and improve a global-scale message queuing service
- 03Ship new features and product improvements
- 04Improve reliability, performance, and delivery guarantees
- 05Own code from inception through release
- 06Work across all layers of the software stack
- 07Write design documents to propose and communicate solutions
- 08Improve message buffering and delivery behavior
- 09Improve producer and consumer scalability under load
- 10Debug and fix user-facing bugs
- 11Use AI tools responsibly throughout development
Requirements
- 014+ years of experience with distributed systems and data
- 02Experience using AI-assisted development tools across the software development lifecycle
- 03Strong judgment for when to rely on AI tools and when to validate independently
- 04Strong ownership of correctness, security, and quality
- 05Willingness to share knowledge and mentor others
- 06Excellent oral and written communication skills
- 07Ability to document complex ideas clearly and concisely
- 08Solid understanding of TypeScript/JavaScript
- 09Strong systems-level programming skills
- 10Understanding of security issues and responsibilities
- 11Experience monitoring, alerting, and debugging high-volume production systems
- 12Experience with continuous integration workflows and git
- 13Ability to analyze data sets such as logs
- 14Experience designing and building APIs
- 15Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
