Responsibilities
- 01Shape the future of the Data & AI landscape by working with sophisticated data engineering and data science teams.
- 02Collaborate with customers, product teams, and the broader customer-facing team to develop architectures and solutions using the Databricks platform and APIs.
- 03Guide customers through the competitive landscape, best practices, and implementation, and develop technical champions.
- 04Partner with the sales team and provide technical leadership to help customers understand how Databricks can solve their business problems.
- 05Lead technical discovery and design architectures, implement proof of concepts for strategic projects spanning data engineering, data science, machine learning, and SQL analysis workflows.
- 06Help customers build solutions that integrate with cloud services, home‑grown tools, and other third‑party applications.
- 07Act as a strategic technical advisor to customers to help them drive business outcomes.
- 08Collaborate with fellow Solutions Architects to support each other and users.
- 09Become an expert in, promote, and recruit contributors for Databricks‑inspired open‑source projects (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Omnigent) across the developer community.
Requirements
- 017+ years in a data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or similar pre‑sales/consulting role
- 02Experience building distributed data systems
- 03Comfortable programming in and debugging Python and SQL
- 04Have built solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- 05Expertise in one of the following: Data Engineering technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) or Data Science and Machine Learning technologies (e.g., pandas, scikit‑learn, PyTorch, Tensorflow)
- 06Available to travel to customers in your region
- 07[Desired] Degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research)
- 08Nice to have: Databricks Certification
What we offer
- 01Local pay range: $219,100 – $301,300 USD
- 02Remote work (Pacific Time preferred; Mountain Time considered)
