Responsibilities
- 01Help customers succeed with the Databricks Platform by resolving critical technical customer escalations and working closely with the frontline support team
- 02Be the technical bridge between support and engineering and the first line of defence for engineering
- 03Ensure that all issues are vetted by you before they reach the engineering team
- 04Report to the Backline Engineering Team Manager
- 05Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues related to the Databricks Platform by analysing the core component metrics and logs
- 06Provide suggestions and best-practice guidance to improve performance in customer-specific environments and to provide product improvement feedback
- 07Help the support team with detailed troubleshooting guides and runbooks
- 08Contribute to automation and tooling initiatives to streamline daily troubleshooting
- 09Partner with the engineering team and spread awareness of upcoming features and releases
- 10Identify and contribute supportability features back into the product
- 11Demonstrate ownership and coordinate with engineering and escalation teams to resolve customer issues and requests
- 12Participate in weekend and weekday on-call rotation
Requirements
- 017+ years of industry experience
- 02Experience with supporting Java, Scala or Python-based applications
- 03Expert in scripting using Python or Shell
- 04Comfortable with black box troubleshooting
- 05Experience in troubleshooting issues related to the "Distributed Big Data Computing" environment
- 06Experience with SQL-based database systems
- 07Experience in Linux and network troubleshooting
- 08Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP related services
- 09A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
